Slow Cook December

Learn the Crockpot Basics!!
Crab Dip
  • 12 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 c mayo
  • 1/2 shredded parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 c sliced green onions
  • 1 Tbsp worcestershire
  • 12 oz crabmeat, flaked
  • 1 chopped red pepper
  1. Mix all ingredients together in crockpot.
  2. Cover and cook on low 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
  3. Keep warm on low heat for up to two hours.

Ham Lentil Soup
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 1 c water
  • 1 chopped celery stalk
  • 1 chopped red bell pepper
  • 1 sliced carrot
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1/3 c lentils
  • 1/3 c diced cooked ham
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 c shredded fresh spinach
  • 1 Tbsp shredded parmesan cheese
  1. Mix everything except spinach and cheese together in crockpot.
  2. Cover and cook on low 7-9 hours (or high 3-4 hours).
  3. Stir in spinach and top with cheese.


Black-Eyed Peas
  • 3 c black eyed peas
  • 2 c chicken broth
  • 2 c chopped sweet onion
  • 2 Tbsp chopped jalapeno
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 4 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 smoked turkey leg
  • 1 bay leaf
  1. Mix all ingredients in crockpot.  Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours.
  2. Discard bay leaf and turkey leg bone.
