While we have a spine curriculum, I often pull printable worksheets to supplement our daily activities. These are also a good way for the kids to learn about where we’re headed next – or where we just visited. I don’t have time to scour the Internet every time a need arises, though, so having resources readily available is always nice. When I was invited to try and Individual Membership to Super Teacher Worksheets I was excited at the possibilities!
Super Teacher Worksheets has thousands of printable PDF files (over 10,000 actually!). Their collection includes math worksheets, spelling lists, reading comprehension passages, educational board games, graphic organizers, handwriting practice pages, educational card games, flashcards, and manipulative teaching materials….and they have new worksheets being added weekly. I found that Super Teacher Worksheets had something for just about every subject we cover with the exception of a foreign language.
One of the best features is “My Filing Cabinet.” There are so many printable worksheets to choose from, but here you can quickly access all of your favorite worksheets and custom generated files in one place! With the worksheet generator you can create your own printable PDF worksheets – you can make your own addition, multiplication, subtraction, and division practice pages. You can create worksheets from their weekly spelling lists. You can make printable practice for whatever they are currently learning! They also have puzzle generators for making word scrambles and word search puzzles and more.
We first had access to the site as we were heading to Pennsylvania, so I printed off several worksheets about the geographical area, the history of the Liberty Bell, and simple machines (our science unit). I was able to find a wide variety of skills for grades K-5. With the permission of the publisher, I am sharing sample pages to give you an example of what you can find in a two-minute sweep. On my second pass, we were studying insects, and I was quickly able to find reading comprehension and science activities, as well as some art projects! It was incredibly easy and a fantastic time-saver!
I first started using the site as a free user with access to a number of free printable, but I really like what they have to offer and will be a paying customer once the free membership ends. One of the things I love most about Super Teacher Worksheets is that they are so affordable! A full year membership is only $19.95. (That's about $1.67 per month.)
Extra Thoughts :
- A majority of the resources available on Super Teacher Worksheets are for Grades K-5, though I noticed many in the “History” section were for grades 5-8. It's helpful to have an idea what the grade level recommendations are for each of the worksheets.
- As printable sites go, this site is one of the best-organized with high-quality worksheets and tools. It even includes answer keys!
