Keep 'Em Separated (Offspring)

We got our first snowfall two weeks before Thanksgiving....that's unheard of in Oklahoma!!  With all that cold weather, we've been spending a lot more time indoors, and the space is beginning to feel a bit smaller.  The boys have already perfected the art of picking at each other, but winter always brings us the 'elite round' of competition.....
School came to a stand-still for two days as we struggled to pull them back into focus.  What they really needed was space, and some alone time, but as the meteorologist says : "conditions are unfavorable."  So we did the next best thing.  All of those boxes that mom had saved up for shipping Ebay purchases were piled on top of each other to create the "Great School Wall."  Actually, it was a fun art project as we tried to figure out which shaped box went where.  I did not inherit my mother's spatial abilities....

Sure, they could still hear each other, but the old saying "out of sight, out of mind" came into play here.  Mom went back and forth, helping each boy with work, and the verbal shots disappeared immediately.  It's not perfect, and it's not for everyday, but when your kids need some personal space, may we recommend a little bit of cardboard....?
