For Thanksgiving, we drove to Missouri to spend time with the cousins....we left late, and stopped for the night near Stanton. The following morning, we just had to check out the famous Meramec Caverns where Jesse James allegedly hid many times during his escapades. We visited the arch a few times.
During this trip, we started a unit on Lewis & Clark - the St. Louis Gateway Arch is known as the "Gateway to the West," and reflects the city's role in the Westward Expansion of the U.S. during the nineteenth century.
